Jazz Concert

San Luis Obispo County Jazz Federation, San Luis Obispo, CA

Marina will be performing in San Luis Obispo. Jazz lovers throughout the Central Coast of California have joined together in an organization called the SLO County Jazz Federation, founded in 1983. The Jazz Federation supports and encourages the performance and appreciation of jazz by sponsoring live jazz performances and jam sessions. More details coming soon!

Join us for Marina Pacowski's monthly series celebrating the meeting of Spirit & Music in the works and lives of composers & musicians. This month is an in-person show (also livestreamed) at the auditorium of the Philosophical Research Society. Marina Pacowski, vocalist and host, is joined by clarinetist Christin Hablevitz. Together they will perform and celebrate the works of Mozart and Schumann, as well as works from the cannon of Kleizmer music. General entrance: $20. Free for students and anyone under 18.

PRS presents a special series that explores the relationship between spirit and music by focusing on the life and context of the composers, literature that relates to the performers themselves, aspects of the instruments, and reflection on style. The special concert is being held on Manly Hall's birthday, who founded The Philosophical Research Society in 1934. Megan Shung (violin), Marina Pacowski (piano and host) and Mandy Kahn (poet in residence) will celebrate "The Soul of the Violin" in a special program featuring the works of Mozart, Elgar, Bach, Debussy, De Falla, and Monti.
